PMMI
announces The Baking and Snack Break lounge, the newest feature to debut at
this fall’s show. The industry-specific lounge will be the meeting place for the baking and
snack industry at North America’s largest packaging and processing
event. This location will offer specialized opportunities for baking and
snack professionals to connect with suppliers and partners, for even faster
access to the solutions they seek.
The leading
trade association for the snack industry, the Snack
Food Association (SFA) will endorse The Baking and Snack Break lounge, and Kliklok-Woodman
will be its first corporate sponsor.
The lounge
will house an “Ask the Expert” resource center staffed by SFA, where attendees
can expect to receive guidance from experts in the baking and snack industry on
specific packaging- and processing-related challenges. In addition, a
micro-site is being created which will include a connected community.
This site will focus on baking and snack trends, news and other relevant
industry information, making it faster and easier for attendees to schedule
appointments, coordinate purchases and build relationships. The micro-site will
feature live blogging from experts on the show floor, and will remain active
after the show ends, so that manufacturers can remain in touch with exhibitors
year round.
A
special reception hosted by PACK EXPO and SFA will also be held in The Baking
and Snack Break lounge on Monday afternoon, September 26, 2011, to offer an
additional opportunity for attendees to network with industry peers during the
show.
“The Baking
and Snack Break will give industry attendees an exclusive area to discuss their
unique needs in packaging and processing with industry experts and peers,” says
PMMI President & CEO Charles Yuska. “The new industry-specific area is
ideal for attendees who are looking to find solutions at PACK EXPO quickly and
efficiently. The endorsement by the SFA and the corporate sponsorship from
Kliklok-Woodman shows great support from the industry.”
“We are
proud to endorse and support PACK EXPO and the baking and snack industry,” says
James A. McCarthy, President & CEO, SFA. “We think this lounge and
the customer-centric approach by PACK EXPO Las Vegas is a great opportunity for
the industry to come together. We look forward to working in partnership
with PMMI to help advance the interest of the industry.”
The Baking
and Snack Break joins The Rx Lounge, an industry specific lounge for
pharmaceutical professionals, and The Candy Bar, an industry-dedicated lounge
for the confectionery industry and endorsed by the National Confectioners
Association (NCA). PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2011 will again include The Processing
Zone, Reusable
Packaging Association’s Reusable Packaging Pavilion, The Brand Zone and the
Confectionery Pavilion.
